After breaking the Top Gear Test Track lap record, the McMurtry Spéirling sets about another world first.
Our sister company OneZero7even Media have been working on an incredibly exciting project with McMurtry, showcasing the groundbreaking technology of its electric fan hypercar. Just days after it smashed the Top Gear test track lap record, comfortably beating even the V10-powered 2004 Renault R24 Formula 1 car, McMurtry really showed off the car's exceptional downforce capabilities by turning it upside down, literally!
In this demonstration, the car sits stationary on a rotating platform, and even without speed to generate downforce via aerodynamics, the car's fan system generates sufficient downforce to keep the car sucked to the surface, even completely upside down, defying the limits of any conventional car. This accomplishment sets a new benchmark in automotive performance and highlights the innovation of the McMurtry team, and I'm sure Dunsfold won't be the Spéirling's last lap record.
