The 992 GT3 is a serious bit of kit out of the box, but Manthey Racing are the masters of turning the most hardcore machines up to 11.
As so often happens (more times per day than I care to admit), I was scrolling Instagram earlier when a car caught my eye. It was shared by our friends at TOP 555 who had just got it into stock, and there aren't many cars at this price point I'd have rather been behind the wheel of around Silverstone last Tuesday given the chance!
The 992 GT3 is a serious bit of kit out of the box, but Manthey Racing are the masters of turning the most hardcore machines up to 11. The Manthey Racing Performance Kit cost the previous owner of this car an eye-watering £63,319, and includes 4-way adjustable suspension, lightweight wheels with hollow spokes, upgraded brake kit, aerodynamic package with front lip, canards, rear diffuser, carbon rear wing and those carbon aerodiscs on the rear wheels, which I'm still undecided on visually.
The kit also brings aesthetic tweaks including yellow towing loops, Manthey illuminated carbon door sill guards, Manthey LED door courtesy lights, and various bits of Manthey branding to get your money's worth.
The kit is combined with a more aggressive suspension setup and helps the GT3 MR lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife four seconds quicker than the standard car, whilst also claiming to improve road handling without compromising usability.
This particular car also has a JCR Sports Exhaust which promises to deliver a sound to match the pace! The car left the factory with a mega spec before Manthey even touched it, with PCCB ceramic brakes, front axle lift, Clubsport package with 918 carbon bucket seats and loads of other carbon bits including the roof. To add some excitement to the Arctic Grey paintwork, the yellow theme from the calipers is continued with the Manthey branding, yellow rev counter and chrono clock as well as stitching and seat belts.
At £204,950, this car is commanding anything up to £40k more than a standard GT3 of similar mileage, so the mods don't come cheap, but if you want the Manthey bits, full PPF and a naughty exhaust to boot, you'll be saving over £30k compared to doing it all yourself.
