Lotus Emeya and Evija X to Make Dynamic Debuts at Goodwood FOS

Two new Lotus models are set to make their dynamic debuts at this week's Goodwood Festival of Speed — the four-door 'hyper-GT' Emeya, and the Evija X, a super-hardcore track version of the already blisteringly quick all-electric Evija. These are two models which Lotus claim "mark a new era for Lotus and highlight its ongoing pursuit of excellence and innovation in electrification", and it's certainly true they're a world away from the Colin Chapman era.

Both cars will be taking to the Hill Climb all weekend, and the Evija will be taking part in the supercar runs to show off its 2,011bhp, making it the world's most powerful production car. The Lotus stand will also be displaying Lotus' new electric lineup including the Eletre SUV alongside the combustion-engined Emira, as well as the F1 World Championship-winning Type 72 for a reminder of the brand's roots.

“We are thrilled to debut the Lotus Emeya and Evija X at Goodwood Festival of Speed. These models represent the pinnacle of our engineering and design capabilities, embodying the spirit of innovation and performance that Lotus is known for. We are excited to showcase our vision for the future of luxury and hypercars both on the Hill and on our stand” — Simon Lane, Executive Director at Lotus Advanced Performance.

Whatever your thoughts on Lotus breaking away from lightweight simplicity, they're certainly breaking new ground and striving to remain not only relevant, but at the forefront of the sports car industry, and I'm sure these two cars will draw a lot of interest this weekend.
